Cloud Imperium Games (CIG), developers of Citizen of the stars, are a new type of independent studio dedicated to delivering AAA games outside of the established publisher system. CIG was founded in 2012 by renowned visionary game developer Chris Roberts and continues to change the paradigm of the game development process by providing its community with an unprecedented level of visibility and interaction with product development.
What: The Citizen of the stars Clash of ships is a month-long celebration of galactic proportions where players around the world vote for their favorite ship and spaceship models in the verse. Players campaign for their favorite ships with original videos, songs, thumbnails, photos and more. You can find an archive of the best community creations celebrating their favorite ships, here. The second phase of the event sees 16 of the most popular ships compete against each other in a one-on-one voting.
To celebrate the conclusion of this annual celebration, developer CIG welcomes new players with free access to download and play Citizen of the stars as well as free access to the last four ships of Ship Showdown for new and existing pilots. Those with one of the final four ships with the most votes can also look forward to additional prizes, including an in-game exclusive skin and leather jacket, while the final winner will also receive a backpack in the game on the theme of the maker.
The last four most popular ships for this year Citizen of the stars The Ship Showdown event includes:
- C2 Hercules

The Citizen of the stars The Free Fly event is scheduled to begin today Monday, September 20 at approximately 10:00 a.m. PST and will run through Monday, September 27. Citizen of the stars players can vote on the Ship Showdown Event Page by Wednesday September 22, with the final winning ship to be announced on Thursday September 23.
Additionally, all 16 of the most popular ships featured in this year’s Ship Showdown event will be available to commit until the end of the installment on Thursday, September 23. The final four winning ships will also continue to be available to engage via the end of the Free Fly event, ending Monday, September 27.
