Several Twitter users shared screenshots of these tweets from PM Modi’s account, which stated, “India has officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender.”
“The government has officially purchased 500 BTC and is distributing it to all residents of the country,” the now deleted tweet said.
This is not the first time that a global leader’s Twitter account has been hacked by hackers while promoting a bitcoin scam. In 2020, the Twitter accounts of Barak Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian and tech companies like Apple and Uber were hacked in a Bitcoin scam, also affecting some of the major crypto sites. cash.
